Kithira Sound Map
An interactive sound map of Kithira.
A curated selection from an ongoing collection of field recordings, started around 2008. Each sound is placed on the map at its actual GPS coordinates. Capturing Kithira's ever-changing soundscape over time, as years, seasons, weather, wildlife, and climate change do their work.
Controls
Tap a sound circle to listen. Sounds cross-fade based on your distance from each recording.

- Silence. No ambient bed.

- Listener drifts between sounds automatically.

- Reset the map view to Kithira.
No sound?
On iPhone, web audio is silenced when the side ring/silent switch is set to silent. Flip it (or check Control Center) if the map is silent in places you'd expect sound.
